icodemus came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God.”

After Jesus had died, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus took Jesus’ body down from the cross, anointed his body with spices, wrapped it in cloth, and placed it in the un-used tomb of Joseph.

 As Nicodemus watched Jesus come into Jerusalem,  none of the other Pharisees knew he was a believer. For some time, according to Mark 3:6, the Pharisees had wanted Jesus dead. (“Then the Pharisees went out and began to plot with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.”)

Other Pharisees had sought opportunities to arrest Jesus. Seeing the large crowd they said, "See, this is getting us nowhere. Look how the whole world has gone after him!" (John 12:19)
