“Oh give thanks unto the Lord.”

DECORATIVE A 304 hrough out the New Testament there are many stories of people who were healed. One such man was healed of leprosy.

In Matthew 8:1-3 it reads: “When he came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy.”

Could this be that man? Jesus changed his life physically and spiritually. How could he thank Jesus enough? If this was that man, on this day, in the midst of this great crowd, his facial expression radiates his gratitude and love for Christ’s act of mercy and kindness.

Jesus heals today. He heals you forever. Through baptism, the word of God brings the work of Jesus to you. Therein, God calls you by name, gives you faith, and the Spirit brings to you forgiveness. You die and rise from the dead. Christians live their lives in the resurrection and enjoy the eternal healing in the midst of this world.
