esus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."
“You are a king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me." (John 18:36-37
At the top corners of “Hosanna” we see the world taking part in this parade. And isn’t it the same today? The world enjoys Christmas ( as long as you don’t talk about Jesus), the world enjoys Easter (as long it’s only the Easter egg hunt for the kids), and it enjoys “God Bless America” at ball games as long as it doesn’t require belief.
The kingdom of Jesus Christ is not of this world. His believers are only aliens in a foreign land, awaiting their journey home.
Yet, His kingdom is in this world and He comes to you through His Word and the sacramental life when he gathers His saints at church.
